2. Orientation

2.1 Program Orientation

The LEAD Office holds an orientation for new students immediately prior to the first research seminar in July (EdD and CPhD), and immediately prior to the start of the Fall and Spring semesters (PhD).

Critical program protocols are reviewed during orientation, thus participation in orientation is required.

The orientation session in the LEAD School is conducted by the Associate Dean for Doctoral Studies. Orientation activities include: introductions to seminary life and institutional policies and procedures; frequently asked questions and information on how to complete the program of study successfully; assignment of the faculty advisor; completion of requisite program forms; and issuance of student ID cards.

2.2 Seminary Orientation

Orientation sessions are conducted to orient new students to the seminary library and the health and recreation center (for purposes of access to center facilities).

In the EdD and CPhD, orientation sessions are conducted in the afternoons during the first week of the on-campus seminars in July. In addition to the orientation to the library and recreation center, an orientation is conducted on the online registration process.

Participation in the library, recreation center, and registration orientations is required.

In the PhD, orientation sessions are conducted immediately prior to the start of Fall and Spring semesters as scheduled by the Office of Student Life.

Participation in the library orientation is required; participation in the recreation center orientation is optional.
