Using the Handbook
Introduction
The RDS Handbook contains the policies that govern the residential Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership (PhD), the Cohort Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership (CPhD) and the Doctor of Education (EdD) programs in the School of Leadership and Church Ministry of Southern Seminary.
The LEAD RDS Handbook is organized according to the stages of degree completion. Click the appropriate link to access the part of the handbook pertaining to your status in your program of study.
This edition of the handbook reflects the most recent actions of the LEAD School faculty, the Research Doctoral Studies Committee, the actions of the Associate Vice President for Doctoral Studies, and the seminary faculty. The handbook should be regarded as an official supplement to Southern Seminary’s doctoral program policies and procedures as found in the current official catalog of the seminary.
The current edition of the handbook governs the program of studies, regardless of the edition active at the time of enrollment. It is subject to change and changes may have immediate impact on the program of study, therefore, this web document is a statement of the program design and expectations, but does not constitute a binding contract on the part of the LEAD School or The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Students are expected to meeting the following responsibilities as partial demonstration of academic integrity and excellence:

3. Students are responsible for meeting administrative deadlines, and for keeping Academic Services and the Office of the School of Leadership and Church Ministry (LEAD) informed of changes in name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.
4. Students are responsible for pursuing learning goals with honesty and integrity and to treat fellow students, faculty, and staff with respect, understanding, and patience appropriate to a Christ-like character.
5. Students are responsible for meeting their financial obligations to the school and lending institutions in a timely manner.
